Human Resources

What do we mean when we talk about Human Resources Management in the Diocese?

It has a Two-fold purpose:

Firstly, to ensure that employees of the DBF have appropriate terms and conditions and to ensure that all office holders in the Diocese operating under Clergy Terms of Service have clear Statements of Particulars and can access guidelines that affect their role day to day. These can be summarised in these two documents:

Secondly, more and more parishes are employing members of staff. Employment can be a challenging area, especially if things go wrong. Here at St Mary's House we are committed to providing parishes with advice and resources that build their confidence in that employment relationship.

The following documents are available by clicking on the links below.  Please note that they are designed to be adapted to suit individual circumstances.

Occupational health provision within the Diocese of Lichfield

This document outlines our approach to occupational health services and the role of confidentiality and consent in discussing an employee’s health. It also describes at the end the protocol we will follow to procure and arrange OH.

Staff Mental Health

Mental Health First Aid Training has been and continues to be offered throughout the diocese. Several members of diocesan staff have also completed training and they are available to diocesan staff.
