Resources about LGBT+ issues

There are many video resources online to help churches have good conversations about LGBT+ issues.

The Church of England’s Living in Love and Faith teaching and learning resources, exploring questions of human identity, sexuality, relationships and marriage, are now available. The extensive resources draw together the bible, theology, science and history with real-life stories. They were commissioned by the House of Bishops and include a book, a series of films and podcasts and a course following three years’ work by a group of more than 40 people from across the Church. Read more about Living in Love and Faith in our diocese.

Living Out tells the stories of Christians who "express same sex attraction and seek to stay faithful to biblical teaching on sexual ethics and flourish at the same time." Anne's story below is one of several on their website.

Teenager Lizzie Lowe took her own life in 2014 because she didn't know how to be a Christian and gay. In the video below, the Rector at her church in Didsbury, Nicholas Bundock, is interviewed by the Revd John Bell of the Iona Community as he talks about Lizzie and her legacy on their church. There are reflective questions for church groups at the end.
