Perton: Team Vicar

A unique opportunity to serve as Team Vicar in a modern and growing village with a lively, welcoming and enthusiastic church family; located right on the boundary between  beautiful, rural South Staffordshire and all the diversity and opportunities of the West Midlands. We are a Parish with a single church, within a Benefice team ministry.

The church building was designed and built in 1982 for multi-functional use; it has no churchyard, and sits in the centre of Perton – a modern garden village sited on a former wartime airfield. Our church history is that of a Local Ecumenical Partnership between the Church of England and the United Reformed Church. It is no longer possible to alternate between Anglican and URC Ministers, although we try to retain a URC element in our pattern of worship styles when possible.

We are looking for someone who will lead us to explore new ways of ‘being church’ as we seek to meet the needs of our village; engage the congregation in the relevance of faith in the wider social justice issues of today’s world; encourage us to continue exploring ways to strengthen our own discipleship. There is great potential for mission in this established active community across all age ranges.

If you have a strong personal faith, are happy to offer a variety of worship styles, are open, approachable, can manage your time effectively, and enjoy social occasions, we’d like to meet you!
