#FollowTheStar 2019

The Church of England is once again using #FollowTheStar as the core of its campaign through Advent and Christmas in 2019 after the success of the 2018 campaign.

It has a great variety of resources for churches, schools, chaplaincies and fresh expressions including reflections available in print and electronic form, social media and video. It also has a selection of files and images that can form the basis of your own local advertising, liturgical materials and online engagement with local communities - find them here.

Our DVE and Communications team have also been thinking about ideas that could help: it's a season of goodwill, so we have a couple of posters (here and here) that can encourage people to feel welcome (do back it up with friendly smiles!).

And in tandem with our Chad Living and Re:Dress (ethical fashion) streams of Discipleship, here's a suggestion for that annual chore that can leave the planet feeling festive rather than the landfill tip:

Display a star on your church building

As well as the nationally-produced resources, church and school groups can have a lot of fun building community and using your own creativity and skills joining in - the video on the right here has some examples of ways to draw people into church to 'Follow the Star'.
