Safeguarding Practitioner

2 x part time (17.5 hours) – £20,000 to £22,000 per annum, dependent on skills and experience.

1 x full time (35 hours) – £40,000 to £44,000 per annum, dependent on skills and experience.  

The diocese of Lichfield are seeking one part time and one full time (or two full time), Safeguarding Practitioners to support safeguarding provision in the Diocese through expertise, advice, guidance and oversight. The post is based in Lichfield though mixed mode working is available.  

The Safeguarding practitioner will be responsible, as part of the safeguarding team for undertaking casework, providing advice and guidance in relation to the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults, and where necessary assisting in the delivery of training.  

Candidates will have suitable experience and be from a Social Work, Policing or Probation service background.  They should be able to utilise their skills to help develop and sustain a culture which ensures that children and vulnerable adults are as safe as they can be in our churches.  

The successful applicants will have effective verbal and written skills with excellent attention to detail.  You will need to be professional, friendly and approachable (particularly under pressure), self-motivated, flexible and able to work on your own initiative whilst utilising supervision effectively.
