The St Chads Retreat Centre trustees are pleased to announce they have been able to once again open the doors of Dovedale and Shallowford House.
Early indications look positive with guests already taking advantage of the new settings that both the houses are offering.
Enquiries and bookings for this summer are already up on previous years as people emerge from the lockdown.
Simon Hudson, Director of Shallowford House (pictured above), states: “Because of the upgrades made over the past few years we have seen our range of guests broaden and occupancy levels for August are at an all-time high. Groups appear keen to take full advantage of the new reduced sole occupancy numbers and the confidence it promotes."
The Bungalow at Dovedale was the first to welcome guests within the SCRC group and, under the skillful management of Jo Green, is enjoying a surge of interest. Dovedale House (pictured below) itself has been significantly transformed, and in a recent management meeting Jo was delighted to say “all the redecoration has now been completed, and the transformation of the dormitories into family rooms gives the house a completely new feel. It should really appeal to larger, extended families desperate to get back together again."
Derek Pamment, Chair of Trustees, reports: “Due to most of the bookings during the lockdown period having moved to later dates, availability at both houses is limited although we do still have some spaces.” He is urging potential users to ring the booking lines early to avoid missing out. “Safety of our staff and guests has always been our priority, so delaying and staggering the openings of the venues has been key to offering the hospitality our guests are accustomed to albeit in a slightly different form,” Derek said. "We look forward to welcoming you."
