A Midi Church is one that has between 65 and 99 adults coming to it most Sundays. Does that sound like yours?
We held a series of conferences, the last of which was in June 2014; 'The Shape of Things to Come'.
After a break where we have explored meeting together in clusters, we have recently started to hold midi-church consultations every few months, looking at various topics.
- In March 2018 we looked at Pastoral Care: priorities and good practice.
- In September 2018 we looked at Developing Leaders.
One of our key contributors to our conferences in the past has been Canon Robert Warren. We highly recommend his latest book, 'Developing Healthy Churches'. He has also written three essays on churches in Lichfield Diocese, centred around themes like Pastoral Care and Small Groups - they're all available on request from Richard Barrett.
In the past few years we have been looking at attendance measures in a different way by looking at the 'Church Family' or 'Worshipping Community'. This measures children and young people, as well as adults; and midweek events as well as Sunday. It also takes into account of the fact that people attend less frequently on Sundays due to sociological changes. More on these is on our Stats page.
