The Diocesan Digest was founded in 1989. It is the Sound Magazine for our Cathedral and the Diocese.
A flavour of the articles for each edition are: Church news, local and national; Comments and features; Diocesan Bishops letter; News and letters from Spotlight; Music, organs, bells and choirs; Thought for the month; Recipients letters; Magazines; Interviews; Events. It is available for anyone who is blind or visually impaired; and qualifies for the Royal Mails 'Articles for the Blind' scheme. It is produced and run by independent volunteers.
This sound magazine has given news and conversation for blind and partially sighted people, as well as anyone else who is interested. The magazine is produced each month, and the recordings are kindly provided through The British Wireless for the Blind, who provide a large number of Talking Newspaper access through their system.
The Digest started in 1989 and in 2019 celebrates its 30th anniversary.
