The Lichfield Diocesan Advisory Committee (DAC) will meet 6 times in 2024, by online conferencing or in person at St Mary's House in Lichfield, to consider faculty applications for both informal (pre-application) advice and formal (statutory) advice.
The full explanatory minutes of DAC meetings, following approval by the DAC at each subsequent meeting, are published on this web page (from 2021 onwards).
The DAC notes that the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS) guidance on The operation of the Ecclesiastical Exemption and related planning matters for places of worship in England (2010) indicates (paragraph 10) that 'Denominational systems of control need to be open and transparent'.
Faculty applications, including supporting documents, submitted under the Faculty Jurisdiction (Amendment) Rules 2019 (from April 2020) and most recently the Faculty Jurisdiction (Amendment) Rules 2023 (from January 2024) via the Online Faculty System are now also in the public domain, through the public notices section within that online portal.
