DAC Casework Officer

Are you a proactive and motivated self-starter, able to work on your own initiative and prioritise a busy workload? Do you have an interest in heritage, conservation, and the environment? An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our church buildings team.

The Diocese of Lichfield is seeking to appoint a full-time DAC Casework Officer, to assist in the work of the Lichfield Diocesan Advisory Committee (DAC). This is a new post, which will complement and enhance our existing provision and outcomes in relation to church buildings.

The role includes responsibility for ‘minor’ faculty casework (statutory applications for making changes to churches), including cases relating to net zero carbon (e.g. heating/lighting), and coordination of a body of expert volunteer advisers/consultants, who facilitate such casework.

With proven organisational and administrative experience, and excellent written and verbal communication skills, you will be competent in using IT, computerised administrative systems, databases and websites.

Educated to degree level or equivalent, in a relevant field, you will also need careful attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

This is a hybrid role, with office and home working, so incorporating team and solo working. The post offers the opportunity to travel throughout the Diocese, for site visits, as required.

Salary: £34,000 per annum. Hours: 35 hours per week. 25 days holiday plus public holidays and an additional Christmas shutdown, and a non-contributory pension scheme.
