More on Louise
I am an ordinand training at Queens Foundation theological College full-time. My training is a combination of studying at Queens and context based at Berkswich parish. I joined the Community of Evangelists four years ago through the faith tent at the Staffordshire County Show. The faith tent ministry is the immersion of the ecumenical church into the marketplace being Christlike, engaging within the Staffordshire County Show embracing all that we meet with the love of Christ through hospitality creating an environment that is a place to rest, and to talk. The faith tent offers free refreshments and a chance to take a break with opportunity to have informal conversations with the volunteers. The ministry unites every person to God through the gospel message of “love your neighbour as yourself”. The mission is incarnational with a quiet “show” of faith by showing our faith through hospitality, offering nurturing and responding to those in need with love is the mission of the faith tent.
More on Nicky
Hi, my name is Rev Nicky, I have been married for 31 years to my patient husband Phillip. We have three children 29, 27, and 25. Our newest addition is Lilybet. 2 years old. Our Jack Russell. I was ordained into the priesthood in 2019. I love walking and reading and snow skiing. Being married to a farmer and being a priest across a rural area which has four counties I get to practise my faith across the borders with permission from a few Bishops. The fun of organising the Stafford County show ‘tent’ is an annual tradition. I took on the role of the show tent organiser in 2019 and other than Covid causing a break for a year we have been able to provide rest, reflection and refreshments to the ‘showgoers’. Placing the church in the middle of the marketplace. Providing a warm welcome regardless of age, colour or gender we offer a spiritual space with a cold drink or a hot drink. Fellowship and food, prayer and insight. Louise has been on the team for a couple of years and along with the core team and a band of volunteers we enjoy a wonderful two days. We look forward to meeting and sharing some time together and hopefully signing up some new volunteers.
