You don’t have to be an expert to get started, there are many resources available about accessibility. Lichfield Diocese has many resources that are available below. Lichfield Diocese resources fall into two categories. Those that focus on specific differences and about ways of being more accessible as a church. There are resources available from national organisations. And resources from the national church are availble in Barrier Free Belonging and Church Support Hub. Alongside our Enabling All work, Revd Susan Myatt leads our diocesan Deaf Church.
There are a number of resources that can be found on Enabling All's You tube channel and on Facebook and on the pages below
We passionately believe that disabled and neurodivergent people in our congregations are the experts on the barriers they experience and what would make a difference. Our network meetings empower one another to share this experience more widely. Do you have experience to share?
Below we have gatherd a number of pages of helpful materials. some gatherd from what we’ve learnt so far through connecting with others, much gatherd on our Accessibility Audit page.
We all have gifts to share. What would you like others to know to support their learning? Please get in touch with us to discuss ways we can enable, equip and empower one another across the diocese.
