Rector (HfD): Calton, Cauldon, Grindon, Waterfall & Blore Ray with Okeover

An exciting opportunity for focussed local ministry as part of a collegiate deanery mission team on the southern edge of the Peak District.

A great opportunity to make a huge difference for local communities whilst working fewer hours. The post offers a fruitful ministry in 4 small rural villages as part of a new Deanery Rural Mission Area team. The 2 full  time and 2 HfD incumbents work collegially across the deanery, whilst nurturing their own local family group of churches.

You will be:

  • Ready for a new and different challenge and a different way of being the rector.

  • Keen to work closely with your family of rural churches.

  • Community focussed and missionally driven.

  • Convinced of the value of developing local lay ministry – creating a community of the faithful.

  • Committed to developing faith with and for children, families and schools.

  • Flexible, fun, energetic and enthusiastic.

  • Able to balance the traditional with the new and to value and meet the different needs of different generations.

In return you will be supported by committed, supportive and very active competent PCCs and a strong, collaborative and supportive Deanery Team – together sharing skills as well as the joys and the burdens of parish ministry.
