Haughmond and Wrekin - Team Rector

Lead a team of ordained and lay colleagues, serving in and through 12 parish churches and 6 active Fresh Expressions of church.

The benefice stretches from the edges of Shrewsbury to those of Telford, and is largely rural with an increasing suburban population. The ministry team includes a full-time Team Vicar, part-time ordained Associate Minister and part-time lay Mission and Outreach Minister, as well as three Readers, a commissioned Pioneer Minister and a Benefice Team Administrator.

Worship across the benefice is varied in tradition and context, with Messy and Bubble Church worship alongside Holy Communion and other services led by the ministry team and other lay worship leaders.

We are looking for someone to work alongside us and:

  • Lead, encourage, inspire and support our team of ministers, together leading us in growth, cohesion and collaboration;
  • Lead and inspire us in worship, and in developing our plans and actions for mission;
  • Help us to reach out effectively to our parishes;
  • Share in our engagement with primary schools (six, of which two are Church Schools);
  • Help us to work together more closely.

We can offer you:

  • A substantial team of committed and supportive colleagues, ready to work with you in God’s service;
  • Established initiatives in rural mission on which to build;
  • Our prayer, love and support.
