Churches throughout the Diocese are being urged to open their doors for 60 minutes of prayer to herald the launch of the new Diocesan Strategy for children and young people.
Diocesan Bishops have given their backing for the Prayer Day on 30th November (St Andrews Day) when the Community of St Chad urges everyone to a Diocesan Day of Prayer for children and young people.
This day of prayer accompanies the publication of the new Diocesan Strategy Reaching New Generations for children and young people. The day will also incorporate prayers from the four Companion link Dioceses.
'Prayer materials will be available and we encourage every church to open for an hour of prayer at some point during that day and it may be that some will choose to open for longer or even organise 24/7 prayer around this,' said the Revd George Fisher, Director of Mission.
Young Children and young people are a vital part of our churches now, and in the future. We give thanks for all the good things that are happening and we long to see more as we seek to reach new generations with the love and grace of God. Please join us in uniting in prayer across the whole Diocese.'
