When I retired I felt called to do something for the Lord and my church both of which had supported me through some difficult times. I enrolled on the Pathway course as I was unsure of my calling, and was inspired to apply for reader training. The two year course has been really challenging, and I am a completely different person to when I started. I am a science trained, and was diagnosed as dyslexic while on the course so I found critical analysis and the vocabulary of theology, particularly difficult. However I am so glad I persisted. I have learnt so much with the support of the Queens Foundation, my tutors, and most of all, my fellow students. I am now confident to preach, lead and share my faith with others. I am passionate about sharing the Good News of Jesus’ saving love outside the Church and have found working with a Christian Youth Group and Toddler Praise Messy Church a way to do this. My church has become lay-led so I have an important role in leading and preaching. I am confident I am where God wants me to be nd look forward to the challenges ahead in my ministry.
