Glascote and Stonydelph - Team Rector

We are an urban Parish of three diverse and informal churches seeking a Rector to lead us through the next exciting chapters of our life and mission. We are focussed on being ‘church as family’, celebrating our diversity and valuing the importance of unity. We seek to be a Parish that demonstrates ‘simplicity, humility and boldness’ in our shared experience and to see them lived out in our individual lives. We enjoy our informality – people and community are more important to us than organisations or structures.

You will mainly be serving the church family at St George’s, whilst providing oversight to St Peter’s, led by the Team Vicar, and to St Martin’s, an LEP with the Methodist church, with the further support of four PtOs and four Lay Readers. Both St Peter’s and St Martin’s are also established Community Centres.

At St George’s, our last Rector helped us enhance our understandings and experiences of the Holy Spirit, and we now look forward expectantly to where you will lead us with the Lord’s guidance.

We are looking for a Rector who shares our values and will be:

  • Faith-filled and expectant that God will grow our churches
  • A prayerful disciple who loves to tell others about Jesus
  • Open to the work, guidance and empowering of the Holy Spirit
  • A preacher and teacher who values the bible
  • Welcoming and inclusive in their approach to people
  • A careful listener to the community and enabler for the churches to engage meaningfully with their Parish

We thank God for all He has done amongst us recently and we are excited about what He will do through the leadership of our next Rector. Our Team Vicar, PtOs, Lay Readers and 3 Church Families look forward to supporting you. There’s a wide range of gifts and experiences which you might have that are ‘desirable.’ The only ones we consider essential are loving Jesus and sharing that love with Our Community.

All applicants should normally have 3 years’ experience in the Church of England or another Anglican church in the British Isles.
