Accessible Services

Typical church services aren't always accessible to people who are neurodivergent. But there are a lot of things we can do to make them open to more would-be worshippers, and at the same time helpful and more meaningful to existing worshippers. Members and friends of our Enabling All team gathered at St Martin's Church in Walsall to put on a service showcasing many different ways we can make worship more accessible - as ideas that can be tried one by one, not a raft to be overwhelmed and guilt-tripped into using all at once!

Like the service Celebrating Neurodivergence we can hold specific services, or we can make our general services accessible. Here is an accessible toolkit that can give you ideas.

It's important that our welcomers are equipped to welcome people with disabilities and neurodivergence. This resource can be printed off and be something that welcomers can become familiar with so that they are aware of different people's needs.
