Dovedale House is situated in the picturesque village of Ilam, within the Peak National Park. Ilam has been a place of healing and pilgrimage for over a thousand years and a significant place for many in their spiritual journey. The Parish Church (Holy Cross), a stone’s throw from Dovedale House, is burial place of the Saxon Prince, Prayer Warrior and Patron Saint of Stafford, Saint Bertram (aka Saint Bertelin). The house offers bunk-house style accommodation for 50 on either a self-catering or catered-for basis. Primarily aimed at school and youth groups, the house is ideal as a base for educational and spiritual retreats. The house’s distinctly Christian ethos is typified by its inclusion of a ‘barn chapel’ and working relationship with the parish Church.
As most residential activities take place at weekends, during the week, the house is generally available for church groups to hold quiet days, themed days with crafts, PCC away-days etc.
The house offers...
- 12 bedrooms of varying sizes and configurations
- an en-suite room with disabled access on the ground floor
- a large meeting room
- two lounges
- a large dining area
- a craft room
- a chapel
- a games room
- private grounds with a fire pit and barbeque area.
