Training Incumbent
The Revd Richard Reeve

Trained: Trinity College, Bristol. Deaconed: 1992 London

Have enjoyed training and mentoring several (7) curates. Committed to ministerial development. Ordained 1992 in London Diocese and ministered there for 16 years. I have been in post here as Team Rector since 2008. Trained at Trinity College, Bristol and gained a Masters in Contemporary Theology in the Catholic Tradition at Heythrop College, University of London. Theologically and liturgically, I am in the modern catholic tradition but enjoy the variety of the team. I like to give encouragement to colleagues to use and develop their gifts and opportunities in ministry and reflect with them on the practice of ministry to support development.

The context

A large parish on the west and north of Wolverhampton and in South Staffordshire, including suburban, urban village, rural and industrial areas. The variety of worship within the four churches, the large number of occasional offices, and the large number of school links give wide opportunities for ministry. With four church schools as well as other schools there will be chance to gain experience of school governance and children's ministry.

As well as supervision by your training incumbent you will be be part of an experienced and supportive team including two team vicars, The Revd Dave Wills and The Revd Sharon Greensmith and two clergy with permission to officiate.

St Michael's Church, where you will initially be based, is in the modern Catholic tradition with the main Sunday Sung Eucharist using Common Worship Order 1, with the use of incense. All four churches have a Sunday morning Eucharist (except that St Paul's has one non-Eucharistic service a month). The seasonal worship will give a broad experience around the parish including a full liturgical celebration of Holy Week and Easter as well as more informal all-age seasonal services (eg Messy Good Friday, Crib/Nativity services), and choral services. We have some shared youth ministry across the parish with opportunities for leadership and the development of other leaders. This includes confirmation preparation. You will be able to develop leadership and supervision skills by working with and developing others e.g. in Christian nurture, pastoral ministry, youth and children's ministry and liturgical ministry. The team is a single parish with four district church councils and one PCC. With a churchyard at St Michael's and a variety of buildings around the parish there is plenty of scope for coming to terms with the nuts and bolts of parish management and administration. I do hope that you will consider coming to the Parish of Tettenhall Regis.

The team is willing to use Prayers of Love & Faith in the Parish.
