#NewRevs 2020 - Fran Bridgewater

Fran grew up in rural South East Kent.

She lives in Cheadle, with her husband Mike, has two grown up children and three Grandchildren.

Fran has held various roles within the church over the years including Authorised Pastoral Minister and Reader.

Then began the amazing journey of discovery of who God was truly calling her to be. This journey has not been without its challenges, but she has loved studying for ordination at The Queens Foundation in Birmingham and has fully embraced the gift of this opportunity, where she enjoyed learning and worshipping with Christians from a breath of traditions.

Fran worked previously in various sectors including clerical, retail, and social care, all of which she believes to be an excellent grounding for ministry. She has a passion for everyone to have a personal relationship with Jesus, especially those that feel marginalised by society.

The biggest misconception about preparing for ministry is that God only calls one ‘type’ of person when in reality God calls us all to serve in our own unique individual way. All of our ministries are different celebrating the gifts God has equipped us all with.

Fran’s advice is that if you feel that God is calling you to explore ministry then trust 100% in God to guide you through, talk it through with people around you, and follow your heart.

Fran will serve her Title in the parish of Cheadle with Freehay in north Staffordshire with Revd Nicky Grey
