The Lichfield Diocesan Advisory Committee (DAC) and its officers constitute one of the Central Administrative Support Teams, which teams provide practical and administrative support across the diocese. The DAC officers help parishes to care for and develop their church buildings and churchyards, in the context of the diocesan vision of discipleship, vocation and evangelism (DVE), and provide administrative and casework support to the DAC.

The DAC officers comprise two members of staff (full time and part time), both with specific areas of casework responsibility:

Giles Standing

DAC Secretary

Giles is a statutory officer of the Lichfield Diocesan Advisory Committee (DAC), appointed by the Diocesan Bishop. He can advise parishes on how to obtain the necessary permissions for works to their churches and churchyards, and online applications via the Online Faculty System (OFS).

Helen Cook

Assistant DAC Secretary
Contact days: Tuesday–Wednesday, Thursday (am)

Helen assists the DAC Secretary in the work of the Lichfield Diocesan Advisory Committee (DAC). She can specifically advise parishes on List B and Additional Matter applications, and online applications via the Online Faculty System (OFS).

Funding or grant enquiry?

  • Please contact Fiona North, Project Support and Church Buildings Officer in the Finance Team, for advice on funding or grants for community projects or fabric repairs relating to church buildings
