1-2 May 2024 12 noon - 12 noon
Churches, schools, chaplaincies, fresh expressions, the cathedral and everyone across the diocese are invited to join a 24 hour Day of Prayer on 1/2 May.
The day will start on Wednesday 1st May at 12 noon with midday prayer and finish 24 hours later on Thursday 2nd May with midday prayer - please join us if you are able.
Unless stated otherwise, all sessions over the 24 hours will be via the Diocesan Zoom room:
Throughout the ‘Shaping for Mission’ initiative, deaneries are playing a central role in rethinking and reshaping our mission as a diocese. As these plans continue to embed into the life of deaneries, and feed into the Diocesan strategic framework, we are inviting deaneries, once again, to be central to our praying together across the Diocese.
As before, we hope most sessions will take place via the diocese’s Zoom room; though we recognise that for some, face-to-face meetings work better.
We would be grateful if every deanery could commit to a 30-minute or 1 hour’s slot. We hope this will give as many as possible across the diocese opportunity to discover more about our very varied deaneries and to join in praying for our shared mission in these different contexts.
We have also invited other groups and departments to contribute, as well as our brothers and sisters in our companion and link dioceses.
If you haven't yet booked your deanery's slot, please contact: Denise Keen.
Week by week, the Diocesan Prayer Diary gives ideas to encourage our praying with a focus on a different deanery each week, along with a regular weekly focus on the world church and various roles and ministries around the Diocese. There will be a special edition available from 28th April.
May each one of us, individually or in groups, via Zoom or in person, be guided by the Holy Spirit as we pray...

There will be opportunity to share news of how the day is progressing on our Diocesan Facebook group, including photographs and short videos - please do get in touch.
One person from each participating group will need to be a member of the diocese Facebook Group to upload these.
